Dear all, about 1 year ago I came across an advert of an institute (possibly an university) offering a 3 year degree in traditional thai martial arts - krabi krabong/muay boran/muay thai - enabling foreigners to apply for an ED visa, the same kind offered by various language schools. This may be a valid alternative to studying Thai. Any info on this?

Thanks!

If they advert with it is is probably true. There is no need to study Thai to get an ED-visa, it can be something else. As long as the school is recognized as such there is no problem.

Mario is correct and many "Muay Thai" establishments in Thailand help with the ED Visa now a days. I know most legite language schools make you attend for a certaine amount of hours/days per week to keep you legal and I'm sure other Legite sources that offer Ed visas are in the same catagory so they don't get in trouble too however there are a few shady ones left that don't care.
