Question Regarding "Tabebien Baan" (Family Book)

Featured Replies

Dear members,

I have recently registered in the ampour and awaiting my yellow "Tabebien Baan" (Family registration book). I have an O non-imm. visa based on marriage.

my wife has a blue "baan" book and I will receive a yellow "baan" book.

my question is..

Does it change anything regarding my non-imm visa? what will be my status now? Resident?

Do I need to apply to another type of VISA? Will the fact that I am registered in the yellow "baan" gives me any kind of advantage with the local authorities ?

Thank you in advance

Jack

No change. Can be used as proof of address if required for some reason. You are still here on visa entry or extension of stay of that visa entry.

Your status in Thailand does not change, you still have to follow the immigration visa/extension rules. Another type visa is not required. You are definitely not a permanent resident.

details of where you are, and of any hoops you had to jump through would be good.

Another question.

I have a Condo in my name which I use when in Thailand just a 2 to 3 weeks a time, I received a blue book with the title deeds etc.

I see there may be some advantage in getting a yellow book with my name entered, is it possible to for me to get a yellow book if I am only in Thailand for a few weeks?

Not sure, but you would need to be on a non-immigrant visa at the least.
