Red Shirt warned not to escalate their rally

BANGKOK, 13 February 2011 (NNT)-Police Division II Deputy Commander Police Colonel Charoen Sisasalak has reportedly warned the United Front For Democracy Against Dictatorship or the Red Shirts not to invade government buildings nor defame any individuals.

Police Colonel Charoen added that he also urged the protesters to watch out for potential dangers among themselves as there may be individuals disguised as one of them with ill intentions of causing harm. The police will also move along with the Red Shirt to provide safety and to prevent unprecedented clash with the Yellow Shirt.

Well the BiB obviously did not get the order. Ratchadaphisek at 1200 today was a shambles and not a cop in sight. Blocked lanes, the usual inconvenience to everyone and no-one upholding the law. Let the civil unrest continue, out of control, and the lawlessness making Thailand look like its out of control - again.

For sure there's going to be a mass exercise in civil disobedience - and not just the blocking of main roads - within the next few weeks. Probably not today, but sometime soon. The Red-Shirts will want to test the government's resolve.
