dantilley
Hi, Does anyone know of a Caribbean restaurant anywhere in Bangkok? I've recently developed a craving for some spciy barbequed jerk chicken, as I used to get on a regular basis in south London...

Narachon
I would imagine that the number of those kind of resturants in Bangkok would be practically nil....I guess you would need have to have a sizable local Carribean population in Bangkok for a that type resturant to be needed. And I don't see that happening anytime soon. After all, why would they need to go to Thailand when they already live in the tropics?
p_brownstone
There used to be a Trader Vics in one of the local hotels - can't remember the Hotel or if the TV is still there - sorry. Patrick

I am from Barbados not Jamaica, the land of jerk everything. I often long for food from home. Thank goodness Mum is coming our soon with some supplies! However, its style is described as Polynesian, rather than Caribbean.

Stacking Zeds
Hi,Does anyone know of a Caribbean restaurant anywhere in Bangkok? I've recently developed a craving for some spciy barbequed jerk chicken, as I used to get on a regular basis in south London... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jerk chicken is primarily Jamaican. There is a large variety of dishes between the nations of the Caribbean. I hate to split hairs but this is like saying "Is there a European Restaurant in Bangkok? I really like black pudding". No offence intended to the OP. No roti here, no doubles, no callalloo. Unless anyone has seen different?
dantilley
Jerk chicken is primarily Jamaican. Hmm, I didn't know it was only Jamaica that specialised in jerk chicken - thanks for that! Well, I guess it's Jamaican cuisine, specifically, that I'm after then...
