BAGHDAD, IRAQ (BNO NEWS) -- At least three people were killed and nine others injured in Iraq's latest series of militant attacks, local media reported on Tuesday.

An explosion in Baguoba, the capital city of Iraq's Diyala Province, killed one police officer and wounded another. According to Press TV, the explosive device targeted a police vehicle in the village of al-Hadid, which is located just northwest of Bagouba.

In a separate attack in the southeastern area of Baghdad, an improvised explosive device (IED) killed one civilian and wounded four in the city's al-Zaafaraniya region.

Also on Tuesday, a sniper shot and killed an interpreter who had been working for a U.S. engineering team. The attack was carried out in the city of Kut, capital city of Wasit Province, which is located in the country's southern region.

A hand grenade thrown at the back door of Mosul's Central Bank injured one civilian and two guards. The attacker was able to flee after the attack as the guards returned fire.

Finally, reports also said another civilian was injured during an explosion in the Mosul's residential area of Bab-Ligish
