Any Aussies Here Flown With Strategic Yet ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys new here ,cool forum hope to contribute . Just wondering if any Aussies have had experience with strategic airlines yet , if so what are they like ? It seems too good to be true but I just booked non stop flights from Brissie to HKT for $299 each way !!! includes meals and luggage. I know its a promo deal but whats the catch? , are the stewardesses trannies or something ??

Cheers

Never heard of them before but thanks for the heads up

So far skytrax only has two reviews for stategic---http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/strategic.htm

Seems like a great option

I think they only service Brisbane and Melbourne for Phuket flights ATM though . It's hard to get non stop flights from Brisbane , In fact I've only ever had one flight non stop and that was virgin but the trip home connected from Perth which sucked bigtime . I hope strategic are good and do well out of this, I'll go to LOS more often.

I had neither heard from them either but i fly out of Sydney and the greedy owners of Sydney airport charge carriers too much for docking fees for the cheaper airlines so we will miss out on Strategic Airlines for the time being. It is a full service airline according to their website and the price of around $800 return to Phuket is good but then i need to add fares Syd to Bris or melb and Phuket to BKK .

Good information - thanks.

I also have not heard of them and will consider them next time. But while I'm here I might mention another option for those living in the north of LOS and travelling to Brisbane and who only want a one way air fare.

Now Air Asia is flying Chiang Mai to Singapore offering a much more affordable option that Silkair. Once in Singpore of course you have more options and I got a good fare with Emirates direct to Brisbane. For both legs it was less than AUD500 in total (one way). A day or two after I booked with Emirates they emailed me to offer a business class upgrade for another AUD180 or roundabout that amount. Great food and lie-flat beds on the plane plus access to business lounge (food, drinks, internet, etc etc) in Singapore. Not bad at all

I'll give you a booking tip also . When booking online , it seems that the either the online booking service is buggy or they only allow the $299 flights one way , so when you book make 2 seperate bookings one way (don't check return) and the flights become available , I booked for May , so iIdon't know when these deals expire but i'm guessing they won't last long , so I would shake a leg !

Same Here, thanks, will keep for future flights.

Same here - never heard of them. Mind you, if you have the flexibility to grab the promo specials you can do much better $-wise by going with AirAsia - even taking into account paying a bit for meals and luggage. I've never had a problem with them - even in my trip to London last year. My best price so far was when I booked CNX-KL-Gold Coast (I go next week) - all up (no luggage) AU$382 RETURN. I'm retired, so I can just ride the cheapie fares & avoiding peak periods, but I rarely pay more than AU$500 return.

I've also done the Emirates BNE-SIN run - good if you can hack the 2.30am (BNE) departure time.

I am booked with them Brisbane to Phuket March 31, on my way back to BKK. It is difficult to get a Brisbane to BKK direct flight. I have done it with Thai Air, but I really do not like flying with them.

I had been looking into Air Asia , but I'd gladly pay a bit extra for no conecting flights , non stop is just the ants pants :)
