Buying An Imported Bike

I understand the ins and outs of importing your own bike or car in to Thailand, and I know you can go to a showroom and buy an imported bike. What I would like to know is, can you get a dealer to import you, the bike of your choice from abroad, one that isn't available in any showroom here? I realise it would be expensive, but is it something dealers can and do?

Thanks for any answers.

Yes, you can import through existing dealership but be prepaired for lots of hassle regarding green book. It might take a while.

I ordered brand new bike from Japan via Teera back in 2007. Bike arrived within 30 days but had to wait for book almost 6 months.

At least you got a greenbook... Guess I can't say more on this forum, but you know what I'm getting at

May I suggest you go talk to Khun Vikrom at Red Baron. Red Baron is the largest motorcycle dealer network in Japan and the Thai franchise has access to a huge selection of bikes, both new and used.

They will tell you straight up the cost to import the bike and get it registered. They're not the only game in town and they're more expensive than some of the other importers, but they're also the most honest and reliable.

Ride On!
