IT'S schoolies on steroids. A teenager's paradise. No parents, no rules, no authorities, no police. No limits.

Welcome to Thailand's infamous Full Moon parties, where the signature drink is a bucket of hard alcohol with red bull - drugs of all kinds are bought over the counter at bars.

Load of <deleted>. <deleted>, sensationalist reporting at it's finest. It wasn't one of Drummond's was it? It's about his level.

I see nothing wrong there at all bar a load of kids having fun and fair play to 'em!!!

I agree - crxp reporting for the sake of it. The person did not even do his homework

It was reported that after landing in Bangkok, revellers catch a charter flight down to the resort island of Koh Samui. From there it's a 90-minute boat ride to Koh Phangan - a tiny speck on the map where the beach is lined with nightclubs and anything goes. Wrong!

No charter flights BKK to USM and it's 30 - 40 minutes.

Obviously the reporter is quoting "and anonymous source" and has never been to an FMP. :redcard1:

I went to one last year but merely as a chaperon for a friend's son to make sure they got up to no good you understand.

That sort of back-fired however for on finding myself surrounded by lots of very friendly young crumpet, I rediscovered my long lost youth. After 15 bottles of Chang and Lord knows how many of them bucket things my friend's son and his pals had to 'escort' me back to the hotel.

The wife, who was waiting therein, was far from impressed especially when I 'went' on her shoes.

there was an identical new post report before on this, same wording the lot, this is just a copy story.... i think i even posted it

ah well , if there are now no police in kpg, i am off to there :)

I think that you are correct about the 'copied' article Boater.

Sadly you are wrong about the 'no police'.

'Er indoors and I were on the island a few days before the FMP (by Ao Salad) and we saw the local BiBs stopping people and getting them to strip to their shorts (in the street) whilst looking for drugs. We were told that there is a 'new boy in town' and he is trying to stop the drugs there.

Good luck if he does

I was curious about the 100 baht for a bucket of vodka and redbull , especially when a bottle of singha is about the same in a restaurant. How big are these buckets and how much redbull do they contain. Somebody must be making a loss on these things at a hundred baht each or is there something i don't understand. I replied to the article on this question but ,of course the Daily Terrible didnot publish my comments. Being Fair and Balanced and all that!!!

The article actually read more like an advertisment for the kids to go out and destroy themselves ,but then i have always questioned the ethics of this particular media barron annd his publications !

As already conjectured, the clumsily-written story has obviously been penned by a school-leaver who has never been north of Cairns. Charter flights, a nightclub-lined beach, 100B for a bucket and killer-size buckets?? The kid needs sacking and wouldn't recognise a BAHT if it blinded him (wouldn't be able to anyway.) If he HAD been there we'd be hearing about orgasms, sex on the beach, hand shandies, a long slow slippery mushroom, falling down blasted and lots of other cocktails, too! He'd be sublimely more positive between the lines whilst still managing to yell SHOCK! HORROR!

yes and they ain't even kids. they are over 18 or they would be able to leave the country on their own.

the news paper makes it look like the party people have been kid napped and forced to enjoy themselves and have accidents.

I know what has happened. some journerlist got a free bie all expensies paid to fly out to samui and do a story. Being working for the posh paper they had to write and artical that would sell to its readers. so he or she makes this story. cashs there check. says than you very much then down the pub for whos round is it.

they probably push their boss to send them to amsterdam for there next job. I wonder why ??????

"IT students on steriods" i am wrong but does that mean that computer nerds have turned into roid heads. Unless i haven't received the information that IT is a new olpypic sport. like the 800 word race the 400 word race the 100 word sprint. The progammathon.

so basically what the news paper is saying ( bearing in minde the headline is onley refering to IT kids.) So all other kids are exempt. sorry to all u other kids u get to miss out on the fun.

these nerds with ginger hair and glasses. Then somehow going to full moon party and leave looking like the incredible hulk with about 20 fit birds round u.

Think a bit of full moon is what they need. There again some people have seem my full moon and they never recovered

Well I think Tywais is actually on to something in the respect that as with the Spring Break in the US, the FMP has now become somewhat of a 'Rite of Passage' to young travellers when in Thailand.

Most of the party-goers will probably be on their 'big trip' before heading home to start careers and see it as a 'last act of hedonism' before a life of conformity and drudgery. That is certainly the feeling I've had when I've been around there at party time.
