Ease Of 90 Day Non-Imm O From Vientiane.

Featured Replies

My friend who is married to a Thai here, wants to know about how easy it is to get a 90 day non-imm O without any of the financial statements required for the extension (40,000thb p/m or 400k in Thai bank) in vientiane.

Are these only for the extension or getting the actual visa as well?

All I could tell him was he could extend it for 60 days based on visiting his wife at immigration. But what about getting it in the first place?

What do they usually require in Vientiane for the single entry 90 day non-imm O, is the marriage certificate, her ID and Tabien Bahn all that's required?

It should be enough, although a bank book or statement with some oney in it wouldn't hurt.

Kuala Lumpur will issue a multiple non-O if he can show 100,000 in the bank (no need to be in Thailand)

He should have that.

He's just over now on a 30 day VE stamp and extension based on visiting his wife.

How long is the multiple for (12 months, and have to do a border run every 90 days?)?

And how long does the 100k have to be in a bank account?

Cheers.

Every 90 days do a boarder run. Visa is good for 15 months if he does his last boarder ruin just before the12 months is up. No time on the 100k. For more info check out...

Also take a letter from his Wife asking for the Visa to be issued. Not absolutely essential but never a bad idea. :)

Can stay for 17 months. After the last entry go and get a 60 day extention from immigration.

No need to have the money seasoned for any time. That is only for an extension of stay from immigration.

I'm sure he'll be delighted with that, thanks.

BTW, how much is a 12 month multi-entry?

Why did he come over on a VE in the first instance?

1) 60+30 TV available free before he left, but more importantly

2) depending where he comes from, a one year o type is easier to get from his home country.

All I showed gave were copies of our marriage certificate, her id card, her family book and a letter from her as well as handing over my passport. Nothing at all in regards to finances.

Did he come from his home country when he entered on his VE?

A multiple non-O should cost 5,000 baht in local currency.

Wow, that's cheaper than me getting it back hole on Aus! At current rate of exchange my present one cost about 7500฿ (ie in Aus)
