I was in Vientiane last week, on Wednesday went to the Thai embassy to apply for a single entry tourist visa, returned Thursday afternoon to receive back my passport

with tourist visa, about a 1 hour wait each time, maybe 300+ people there both days.

I only submitted my passport, the visa application form with photos and copies of passport.

I had no onward travel ticket which I thought might be a problem but turned out not to be.:)
