Mae Sai Stamp - Denied The 90 Day!?!

Featured Replies

A friend has just gone to Mae Sai for her 90 day stamp, with a Non-O visa that's due to expire end of April.

So ya, 90 days goes past the visa, but I always thought they just stamped you 90 days and then you can squeeze extra days out of your Non-O.

Stamp was denied! They only gave her 15 days!

A warning to all - and wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

With a Non Imm O Visa that is still valid she was entitled to 90 days.

Can only think that the Officer did not see the Visa.

Or she only had a single entry and had already used it.

Seems that the Officer believed it to have been a Single Entry visa and gave her the correct Visa for crossing at a Border.

Maybe your friend filled out the Arrival Card incorrectly.

Have her look at the visa, does it say single or multiple?

If multiple, she should have gotten 90 days and she can visit immigration to correct it.

Mae Sai is famous only for the 15 day entries. Maybe they just didn't expect a 90 day non-O visa? I actually didn't know they even did this at Mae Sai

That is not correct. I have crossed at Mae Sai many times with a Non-O multi entry visa and each time been given 90 days.

Mae Sai only gives 15 days to people entering with a visa on arrival.

The OP did not say his friend had a double or mulitply non-o visa. Also you are incorrect. They do give 15 day entry to people on Tourist visas as well. Not just Visa on arrivals.

A Non Imm O Visa gets 90 days on entry. Land and air.

A Tourist Visa gets 60 days on entry. Land and air.

A Visa on Arrival gets 15 days on entry. Land and air.

A Visa Exempt Entry gets 15 days by land and 30 days by air.
