Hi Everyone,

I am flapping slightly and need some help.

My wife has been living in the UK for nearly two years now on a spouse visa. She has a month left on her current visa so we are applying for the ILR.

I have all the relevant documents together; however I struggled to find all of my bank statements. I therefore contacted the bank and asked them to send me the last 6 months statements for our application. They sent the statements through but they just seemed to have been printed off a database. They are included a letter stating that this is the format that all copy statements are sent out in. I contacted our local branch to see if they would stamp them to prove authenticity, however they won't do this as they say it is a fraud risk.

Will the statements sent by the bank including their cover letter suffice? I contacted the Home office directly and their response was 'they might be ok, but we can't guarantee it'.

Any ideas folks?

Thanks

John

As long as they are on paper with your banks name on, as a header you will not have any problems. the header should have your bank name and address with phone numbers on . i got mine from Lloyd's but they where on paper with Lloyd's name and address on ..

I would say just submit the letter attached to the print out, if they think there is any wrong doing I presume they will call the bank to confirm thing like the balance on a particular day or query a particular transaction, if falsified in any way (which I do not suspect) it is fraud and you and her could be in more trouble than just getting her ILR rejected.

I agree, submit the statements as given by the bank along with their covering letter.

The response from the Home Office is standard; they will never give a definite answer over the phone as they cannot do so until they have seen the actual application.
