Any advice on reasonable priced hotels near UK visa office VSL how close is the place to the city centre .

The VFS Office, the visa application centre, is based in Regent House and is in central Bangkok http://www.vfs-uk-th.com/images/map.jpg it's a couple of minutes walk from the Ratchadamri BTS Station, so it pretty accessible from nearly everywhere in Bangkok.

The hotels in the immediate vicinity are pretty much of the up market type, though there are probably are some reasonably priced ones. As it's easy to get there you could probably stay at any hotel near the BTS, pretty sure there are some cheapish ones on or near Silom, which is on the same BTS line.

Nana is just up the road , there are many hotels around there take your pick. also only two stops from Silom.
