Applying In Delhi - Any Experience?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm a UK Passport holder soon to be in Delhi and applying for a Thai Tourist visa..

Anyone got any recent experience? A reliable visa agent in Delhi would be great...

Also - Does anyone know:

Will I need to show return ticket?

and

What's that "$500 endorsement on the passport" requirement all about?

Big thanks

About three years ago they had all the visa stuff handled by a private contractor in Connaught place area it was like buying a coke at a 7-11 easiest visa I ever got but expensive too. I think now you have to go to the embassy but I heard its no problem in Delhi I think you dont need anything special. Please report back here about your experience as I may go to India soon.

According to the website it's still VFS in Tolstoy House http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/wheretoapply.html

You WILL need a confirmed itinerary although I did manage a TV with a one way ticket from the consulate in Chennai (via VFS Bangalore).

I never found out (or needed) the $500 endorsement, I think it's something to do with Indian nationals.

Hi Devaram and Crossey

nice one thanks for the info -

Yes VFS in Cannaught Place still in charge.

TV appears to be Free http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/visafees.html

Current Delhi TV timescales - "Day 2 afternoon" http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/processingtime.html - so will probably book a flight for like the third day..and cross my fingers.

@Devram - Good to hear it didn't become an epic mission although 3 or 4 days in Delhi is a long time...- will let you know my experience in a week or two..

@Crossey - Yeah I think the endorsement thing could be only if you look like a migrant worker or something... Yeah gonna try to get with a confirmed one way flight to bkk only - will let you all know.

cheers

That city has had 7 empires built on top of each other for more than 5000 years!

It would take your whole life to explore that place!

Great sky train like bangkok will help to get around..

I love Delhi but I get asthma from the pollution!

Better head up to the mountains!

yo man couldnt agree more - Delhi is a hole, the absolute less time sent the better.......I spent much time the last 2 years in the mountains up in Himachal Pradesh so hear you there... a very very different experience to the Thai one! Missing my massaman curry & pad thai too much though!

Thailand is definitely heaven after India!
