Soph
I like to eat Pad Pak Nam Man Hoi every day, either as a main meal or as a side dish. I think its the perfect dish to get your daily vegetable hit and very tasty too. At the moment im trying to loose a few excess beer pounds and the Thais are telling me I shouldnt eat this everyday as the oyster sauce that the veggies are stir fried in is full of fat and calories. Any ideas about oyster sauce?
BambinA
For "Num Mun Hoi" oyster sauce 1 tbsp (18 g) = 9Cal well, num mun hoi wont make you fat ...but the OIL that you use for cook/stir fried can !! Bambi
Kringle
I think the SALT and other chemicals in it would be a bigger factor.

aughie
I ate some very salty sausages the other day and they made me swell up. My feet looked like cantalope melons! For days i couldn't get the swelling to go down. Eventually I drank some cranberry juice and I lost 8 lbs. over night! Salt makes you retain alot of water. Oyster sauce is very salty so maybe drink cranberry juice.
Soph
At the moment im trying to loose a few excess beer pounds<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keep the oyster sauce; lose the beer! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, are you serious!!! Only joking, ive stopped drinking beer now. It true, especially for a girl, you can eat pretty much anything, but a beer or two most days does nothing for the waistline.
