Internet Connection In Banjobokgareang-Nr Prakonchai

Featured Replies

I am soon to be moving to a village Nr Prakonchai (Banjobokgareang) There is no telephone lines so unable to have intenet direct to house. Are the satellite dishes any good in this area, if so from whom can I get. Are the download speeds any good from these dishes, I want to use Skype with video to keep in contact with family in UK. Any advice is welcome

Can you get a full phone signal with AIS there?

I think you may have to go the 'dongle' route or maybe use CAT CDMA. Do not even consider IPStar satellite service.

Maybe worth dropping by and speaking to Ray, who owns Coffee Corner in Prakonchai, he's a very helpful fella!

No cannot get a full signal from AIS. Sometimes can not get any signal unless walk a few metres. Signal always very low.

Hi Dave thanks for info. Will look Ray up when next go to Prakonchai. The'D ongle' route is hopeless as signal too weak or none at all at times. Frustrating

The CDMA dongle is supplied with an aerial for week signal areas, however you may be in a No Signal area. You need to call CAT in Buriram, or visit them and tell them your address, they will know, Ray, nice bloke though his is, will not have that info.

If you can't have CDMA then the only option is IPStar, but it's a piss poor option, I know, that's what I'm on right now.

Man, I hope you don't go through anything like I did. I used an aircard for 8 months after moving to the Mrs. village. It totally sucked i.e. no SKYPE, download speeds of 0.03kb/s (yea you read it right). We're a/b 80K North of Chaiyaphum and 90K South of Khon Kaen; this village has internet service vie TOT (govt) but it took me 8 long months b/f I was allowed service. I was about ready to move to KK.

Best of luck - really BTW contrary to popular belief True/Dtac et al do not provide a service in much of Isaan - well in the cities I suspect they do.
