Oh, I miss Diggers. We asked for an update on the F..ng Pub forum over Christmas, but sadly our special correspondent was distracted by family duties.

Has anyone been to the Athletic Arms of late?

I was disappointed last time I went to the Doctors. It seemed to have changed in the twenty years since I was there last..

Lao Po mentioned the subject of digging, and I happened to mention that I had not been to Diggers (which is on Dalry Road) for many a year.

Smokie agreed to check it out, and mentioned in passing that he was not impressed by the Doctors. I concurred.

Patsy then chided me for bringing up the fact that she had been too busy to go to Diggers when back in the Old Country during the Very Cold and Wet Season.

I then mentioned that of the three of us, Smokie was most likely to send a report, as I believe he lives nearer.

Maybe every thread should include a brief summary.

My post frequency goes down when I get busy, it goes up when I am avoiding something I don't want to do.

If there wasn't Thai Visa I would probably be either more efficient or in some kind of trouble.

I shudder to think how much disparity in relative wisdom there is, between you and I. That's some admirable self-discipline I have fatalistically conceded I shall never possess.

What choice is there, watch Thai TV or read and post stuff on Thaivisa. Well, you know my choice.

I'm not saying it's worth the watch, but there are hundreds of US channels on cable...and thousands of worldwide channels online...?

Yes I have to agree with you,personally I sometimes think,with that amount of Posts,surely the end product,could be better channeled. i.e I sometimes (in my dreams) think I have the makings of writing a Book,the Idea is already there,the material is not too bad,my command of English is above average,and I already know the background required for such a venture,kidding myself? but of course,but then growing some choice Carrots,Runner Beans, or Potatoes is quite a worthy excercise too.

But it's much easier to come on Tv,and take the occasional "Put Down" than the rejection slips,for a Crap Potential Book Manuscript (mine probably in this category) or something of a similar nature.

In short: an easy way out, Post on Tv and feel omnipotent. Short,Sharp,to Point, Instant answers,put the world to right,go to bed happy,next day wake up and do the same again,hence the quantity of Posts,addictive? but of course.

And yes beware of waking up,and thinking OMG, did I really Post that, last night...............?

Luckily my worst Nightmare (intended) Posts, have disappeared under the influence,and a few fcuks and other choice curses later, which I have been grateful for my drunken keyboard incompetence the next day.

Do not get me wrong. Some of the one liner drunken posts are funny, some even take a few rereads to try and figure out what the helk they were even saying. The battle of words and wits has its own level of comic relief.

Sadly the only downside is when you actually see a noteworthy topic or inquiry and you have to filter through pages of utter manure in hopes someone has shed a bit of positive light to the topic. I am finding on TV that after page 1, you are done. The rest are the regulars padding posts.

I come here as I am working on a business and am gathering pertinent information. Takes a lot of work on this page.......
