A bus also will not take you to the hotel, you would need to change to a Songtaew(baht bus) at the bus station to complete the trip. You can get a taxi at the regular public taxi stand for about 1500 Baht. If you are staying at the Hard Rock then the cost shouldn't be an issue. Just tell the person at the desk you want to go to Pattaya and they'll get a taxi driver willing to make the trip and you get delivered right to the hotel.
