Mae Hong Son

Featured Replies

With Mae Sot closed I was thinking of going to Mae Hong Son, for the 90 day top up, never been there just fancied the trip.

1. Can it be done there?

2. If so were?

3. Any hotel's recomended?

Thanks in advance.

The answer to 1. (to my knowledge) is No.

The only alternative crossing now, in north Thailand, Is Mae Sai.

Mai Sai or Mae Sariang are your choises. Many people choose to go to Chiang Rai.

Thank you both for that. I will be coming from Tak. Nearest place to me is Tha-Li but am a bit peed off with the same run. Might give Mai Sai a go. Mae Sariang seem's a bit slow on the road front, also lack of info. Anyware hotel's to stay there Mai Sai that is.

Hotels are within 10 minutes walk of the border.
