Which Amphur Office To Go To

Just been reading the recent thread by flip-My link

Now it is the Thai school holidays I want to take my daughter to UK to see rellies,

To make a supporting letter from the amphur office can we do the letter at our nearest amphur office in bangkok where we have been renting for the last three and a half years.

Thai GF(Mother) reckons we may have to do it in her province in the North.

Maybe we could all(plus Mum) arrive at the airport early with birth cert etc. and have them 'okay' me and daughters departure without Thai Mother at the immigration office at Suvarnabhumi Airport right there......

What passport does your daughter hold ? Does she need/have a visa to travel ?

Apparently this "supporting letter", ie the consent of the other, non-travelling parent to take the child out of the country.

Yes, we have her Thai and UK passports, just wanting to know which amphur office we can go to for a letter saying that we can travel without Thai mother.

I guess it would be the ampur where she is registered; tabien baan, ID card etc. Presumably this is the one that covers the district where you live.
