Jawnie
I've been asked to an interview for a teaching position that will require an over-night stay outside of Bangkok in order to be at the morning interview. How can I expect to be treated and are there any costs which the school would customarily pay in such a situation? I doubt that there are, but I thought I'd ask. Any tips or warnings? Scott
My apologies for missing your post. There maybe some posters with other experience, but in my experience, the school will not provide for any of the costs. I had a nice guy get a bus and travel all night from one of the southern provinces for an interview and demonstration class. The Thai admin person didn't agree to hire him because he looked tired! Scott
Let us know how the interview went and if they at least provided you with lunch.
richard_smith237
Speak with the School in advance, can they book a hotel for you ? Alternatively can you explain the situation and ask for an afternoon interview? If they are not going to cover the basic costs of attending an interview or offer some flexibility so that you don't have to travel over night do you really want to be working for them?
