Does anybody know if there is a reasonably secure car park at Ban Phe.I want to drive down to spend a few days on Samet but obviously can't take the car there.

There is indeed parking at the boat station in Ban Phe. The costwas 30 baht per day when I last went there.

As far as security is concerned- it is outdoor parking, and it seems that someone is always around. I've never worried about leaving my car there, as there were many cars much nicer than mine.

On most weekends, the parking is crowded, and they really pack the cars in. As a result your car will probably be three deep, and there would be no way for anyone to steal it.

It has been several years since I parked there but their was a secure parking lot accross the street from the pier and up the road (towards Pattaya) about 50 meters. I think they also charged about 30 bhat per day.

Last time I was there, there was secure parking, in a lock-up under the appartments, for 100 bhat a night, I'm not sure on the avalibllity though as there did not seem to be many spots.

This has nothing to dowith car park, but if i were to take a bus to Rayong, would i be able to get transport to Ban Phe, like a bahy bus maybe, and about how far.

thanks,

Barry

I've never actually done it, but my Thai staff tell me that you can get a bus directly to Ban Phe from Ekkamai.
