is it any wonder you get multiple threads on the same topic when your search engine SUCKS. I put in a gazillion searches for the purchase of a Fino in Bangkok and what do I get hmm let me see multiple pages of fino rentals in classifieds, why farangs wear sandals and socks, thai superstitions and numerous totally irrelevant subjects! Bin the search engine or make it work instead of wasting my time.

Yes it is odd, but found it is much better to put the search into Google, surprise surprise you get relevant posts on the subject in Thai Visa as well as many other places

Stands to reason you'd get more results when searching for anything to do with a bike or car. Perhaps the given thread doesn't exist or you're not tweaking the search. Wrap keyword phrase in quotes to hit an exact phrase and to avoid all sorts popping up, and be sure to be on the specific sub-forum (such as Bangkok) when using the TV search engine (top right). I personally use the Google algo (bottom of page) as the forum platform's search engine is indeed a bit naff, though that is actually nowt to do with TV itself.
