Korean Air Problems

Featured Replies

Hi all,

If you're planning to fly with Korean Air out of CNX any time soon, be aware that they seem to be cancelling many people's bookings, both confirmed and unconfirmed, without warning. Happened to us twice in the last month and to a friend too. My travel agent says it's also happened to many other people. Very inconvenient and now we'll have to fly via BKK.

Do you know if this is a problem with INCOMING flights? We plan to arrive from the USA to CNX via Korean next month...

How do you know that Korean Air cancels you from the flight? Do they call or send an email? Or, do you show up at the airport with your confirmed reservation and then they tell you that you are not able to board the plane?

Sorry, don't know. I suppose if your tickets have already been issued you should be OK. Otherwise, better check with your agent.

We can check our reservations online, using the booking reference number given by the agent. Also our agent informed us of the cancellation. They're cancelling reservations, not issued tickets.

You should always check any flight 72 hour before hand anyway. If its after that time then it looks like a dissapointing airport trip

Reservations normally have a time limit.

If the ticket has not been issued the reservation will be cancelled.

This is normal procedure for any airline.

Yes, and a good travel agent will advise you or that and will notify you a day or so before the cancellation time so you can buy the ticket or choose the cancellation.

Yes, of course, but these bookings were cancelled before the given time limit (twice!) much to the surprise of our widely-praised travel agent, P&P Travel. It seems this has happened to quite a few other people too, including friends of ours and other P&P customers. The airline later agreed to pay for our tickets down to Bangkok to take an alternative flight, in compensation for their "error".
