March 24, 201115 yr Pheu Thai 'Will Move On' With Or Without Chalerm By PRAPAN CHINDALERT-UDOMDEE THE NATION The Pheu Thai Party will survive and move on no matter who come or goes, Deputy House Speaker Apiwan Wiriyachai said yesterday after key member Chalerm Yoobamrung quit the day before. "Chalerm's departure was not caused by Pheu Thai infighting and has not compromised the party's performance," he said. Apiwan said he still respects Chalerm and wants him to continue working for the main opposition party. Whatever Chalerm decides for his future, Pheu Thai will emerge as a stronger party, he said. Chalerm was reportedly unhappy that former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the party's strongman, would not pick him as the party leader. Si Sa Ket MP Thanet Kruarat, a close aide to Chalerm, said he had talked to Chalerm and learned that he had decided not to run in the general election, but might change his mind if Yingluck, Thaksin's sister, becomes the party leader. On Wednesday, lawyer Noppadon Pattama said his client Thaksin urged the public not to be overly concerned about Chalerm giving up his House seat, since this was just a minor internal problem. Noppadon said Thaksin was confident the party's executive board could clear up any issues with Chalerm. Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan said Chalerm had acted only out of his emotions and feelings, which is normal. Although he felt hurt within the party, he is staying with Pheu Thai. He is expected to run in the election with the party, as he has offered to join its election campaign. Lop Buri MP Suchart Lainamngern said he understood Chalerm's feelings. If he had been speaking during a censure debate and was interrupted as Chalerm was, he would also have been upset. Chalerm took himself off Pheu Thai's party list as he was annoyed that party adviser Chaturon Chaisang asked him to cut his speech short so debate leader Mingkwan Sangsuwan would have more time. Pheu Thai MPs from all over the country still support Chalerm and hope he will join the party's campaign, Suchart said. -- The Nation 2011-03-25
March 25, 201115 yr The Pheu Thai Party will survive and move on no matter who come or goes, Deputy House Speaker Apiwan Wiriyachai said yesterday after key member Chalerm Yoobamrung quit the day before. The question is can the Red Shirt Leader (and Deputy House Speaker) Apiwan Wiriyachai survive his impeachment... Pheu Thai Party MP's Jatuporn and Karun The two above and one below are the subjects of an impeachment attempt: Pheu Thai Party MP and Deputy House Speaker Apiwan Wiriyachai The above case involving the impeachment of three Pheu Thai Party MP's (including the Deputy Speaker of the House) is underway now: Yellow-shirt Academic Testifies in Case against Red-shirt MPs A yellow-shirt academic met with the National Anti-Corruption Commission to give testimony on the impeachment case against three Pheu Thai MPs for defaming the Privy Council president on the red-shirt rally stage. Independent academic and yellow-shirt activist Thepmontri Limpapayom gave his testimony with National Anti-Corruption Commissioner Klanarong Chantick to accompany the submission of 30,000 signatures in 2009 for the impeachment of Pheu Thai MPs Apiwan Viriyachai, Jatuporn Prompan, and Karun Hosakul. The National Anti-Corruption Commission will next have to send the case over to the Senate Speaker for further action. [tan]2011-03-03 Edited March 25, 201115 yr by Buchholz
March 25, 201115 yr Through the storm we reach the shore You give it all but I want more And I'm waiting for you With or without you I can't live with or without ya.... dam***n Political sh**t....... Tell Chalerm to speak proper English and the most important thing is Teach his son to remember " HIS FATHER'S NAME". His son keeps askin' other people "DOYOUKNOW WHAT'S MYFATHER'S NAME?" Thai people are so sick of his family...as far as I know Edited March 25, 201115 yr by dunkin2012
March 25, 201115 yr The bottom line: - Chalerm thinks about Chalerm and his cronies and not much more. Can anybody share any examples of anything he has ever contributed to Thailand of great value to all Thais, to bring about better quality of life for all Thais, any speech he has made which contained highly insightful comment which is seen adding high value to future policy development. I can think of zero examples. And I recall when the tainted milk from China scandal broke. He was the Health minister at that time. His initial comment was 'don't say anthing we don't want to upset trade with China'. He should have make urgent and specific comment about fast action to ensure the tainted milk could not get onto store shelves. He should have made specific comment about guaranteeing there was no way Thai children could be harmed. He didn't, nothing. As long as we still have 'chalerms' in the government and in Thai political parties progress will be at a snails pace. Edited March 25, 201115 yr by scorecard
