Wife plans to return to Thailand on May 20th from Uk To apply for both children to join mother on settlement (resident permit) visa.

Situation is she can only stay in Thailand for two weeks because of work commitments, Any suggestions on whether this should be stated in the application in case mother needs to be interviewed..? We plan to go and collect the children 2-3 months after the application is submitted but are concerned in case my wife needs to be interviewed how can we possibly get around this if it arises..? Anybody been in the same boat or can shed some light would be most appreciated.

we are in a very similar situation to yourself, we have just applied for 2 boys visas on the 15th of this month, similar to you because of work commitments we had a problem, we got round this by through a friend we dealt with an agent in thailand and had to give her power of attorney to act on my wifes behalf for the 2 boys, 1 passport, iom for oldest boy and then take them to the vfs to submit the application, wasnt the best option but we feel the only one available to us, they told us it will be no problem with interviews if they are informed the mother is in the uk and will be back in thailand to pick the children up if successful but if they want to interview they will do it by fone, we are waiting the result now, good luck
