Calling European Mobiles From Thailand - Costs

Featured Replies

Ok have done the usual searches and am obviously aware of Deedial 07 08 09 prefixes etc etc but can anyone advise of a quality calling card bought in Stores etc ?

Most of us seem to call mobiles rather than landlines (which seem to be better catered for) so any up to date information gratefully received.

Incidentally if anyone sends texts to Thailand from Europe I have an account that allows them to be sent from the web (but receipiant assumes from mobile) for around 2.5 pence sterling.

Thaivisa used to have similar service a few years ago but discontinued it ??

Get a smartphone and Use SKYPE!

Am not a techie so bear with me.

Would not the receiver require Skype as well ?? I have a Blackberry Torch although locked to o2 (at the moment)

Am more talking about ringing random colleagues/friends without concerns that they are not set up with Skype/Voip ??

Costs vary by country, and this stuff has been covered in countless threads, and nothing's changed. Are you unable to find certain costs? Maybe just ask a specific question? I want to call a mobile in France, from my fillintheblank phone in Thailand.

Assuming the challenge is: calling from a mobile in Thailand to a mobile in country X then...

Dee Dial and CAT have calling cards, you can check their websites. Unless you use a callback feature you may pay local access charges, whatever your calling plan offers.

With a True InterSIM you can dial 00600. you can check their website for costs to fixed and mobiles by country.

With a regular True SIM you can dial 006 and get low-ish rates

You can re-review CAT-009 and TOT-008 rates

Running Skype on a smartphone would allow you to ring any other device: mobile, fixed line, PC. You would have to subscribe to a service plan to do this.

Yes I spent last night for a couple of hours going through past threads but nothing was definitive.

Specifically calling UK from Thailand but thanks for links as very useful.
