Also would like to know, if I need to show/prove the required 400000 Baht on my bankaccount every year/once a year when renewing my visa or just at the beginning, when applying? Thnks a lot Flip Edited March 27, 201115 yr by flip
March 27, 201115 yr Most Consulates do not require proof of 400K in the bank to apply for a Non-Immigrant "O" Visa, that is a requirement for a one year "Extension of Stay" (Not a Visa)based on marriage. It is required to be in the bank 2 months before the first extension application, and I believe 3 months for subsequent annual extensions. You can apply for the visa at a consulate outside of Thailand, or make it part of the extension process when applying in Thailand for the "Extension of Stay". Edited March 27, 201115 yr by beechguy
March 27, 201115 yr Yes, you need to apply for extensions annually and you must meet the financial requirements for those extensions every year.

March 27, 201115 yr You were told wrong. But you should be able to extend your stay on the basis of Thai wife using your current visa entry.
