Non Immigrant O Visa Questions

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm planing to get a non immigrant O visa soon..

Does anybody know, if I will get first a visa for 3 months as well (same as Non Immi B) and then my 1 year one or..?

Also would like to know, if I need to show/prove the required 400000 Baht on my bankaccount every year/once a year when renewing my visa or just at the beginning, when applying?

Thnks a lot

Most Consulates do not require proof of 400K in the bank to apply for a Non-Immigrant "O" Visa, that is a requirement for a one year "Extension of Stay" (Not a Visa)based on marriage. It is required to be in the bank 2 months before the first extension application, and I believe 3 months for subsequent annual extensions. You can apply for the visa at a consulate outside of Thailand, or make it part of the extension process when applying in Thailand for the "Extension of Stay".

Yes, you need to apply for extensions annually and you must meet the financial requirements for those extensions every year.

so no need to go to a consulate!?

You were told wrong. But you should be able to extend your stay on the basis of Thai wife using your current visa entry.
