Will Bangkok Bank Savings Acct Become Inactive?

Recommended Posts

I have a Bangkok Bank (regular) savings account, for which I have not used in almost one year. I typically use this account when I am on holiday in Thailand. Funds are electronically deposited into it from my bank here in the US. I currently have a minuscule balance in the savings account.

Will this account become inactive if I do not periodically (ie yearly) deposit funds into it?

On a side note, is it possible for me to setup internet banking with Bangkok Bank while I'm here in the US?

If the account has a balance of a few hundred baht I wouldnt think there would be a problem, although their probably will be an annual fee (minor amount for any card etc) Internet banking can be set-up but it can ONLY be set-up whilst you are here in Thaialand as they send the PIN etc by conventional mail to your address registered to the account for security purposes. Once set-up you can use it from anywhere.

The Bangkok bank now charge 50 baht per month handling fee if your balance falls below 2,000 baht

Bangkok Bank does charge 50 baht per month if your account falls below 2000 baht. However the account must be inactive for one year before the charge is implemented.
