Did that and it worked............but the "stop watching" button is permanently set to "watch topic" on all topics (including this one) .- so I can't do it the quick way any more

I see what you mean. I'll have a look and see if we can get it fixed.

while you're at it you might try and find out why I'm still getting formatting problems.

I frequently don't get spaces between words, returns or spaces between lines or paragraphs.

this happens usually when editing, or writing a reply.

I've deliberately edited this post to test.

there should be a line's gap between each line.....

Where do you compose your posts? I use fast reply and never have any such issues (only those of my own making). But I do not use alignment options. Just WYSIWYG.

I've just put in a 2 line space with the return key

and now a 4 line....
