September 25, 200520 yr Sorry, forgot to add, my husband just got his (he let the old one expire) and all they needed was his id card, all information was read off the strip on the back. We photocopied everything but they didn't want it, same with photos, they used their own machine.

October 29, 200520 yr Very good one-stop service. Takes no time at all as long as you have all the correct documentation. Birth certificates, ID Cards, Passport for Farang parent etc.

October 31, 200520 yr Since there has been some major updates lately, to be on the safe side I would call the passport office in Chiang Mai (053-891 535 6 (thank you SBK) or have a Thai call them for you)) and ask them the relevant questions: a.) Do you issue e-passports? Are you sure we do not need to go to Bangkok? b.) What documents do we need to bring? Do we need photos? c.) How much is the service? d.) How long does it take to issue? Should clear it up.
November 1, 200520 yr Thyey have one of these cameras in Chiang Mai. It's really very simple. Drop in and hand over documentation. Sit while Khun Tik types the info into the computer. Have photo taken. Go home and passport arrives in about 10 days.
