April 8, 201115 yr Where do the Thai locals play baseball at? in 2010 The Thailand baseball national team was ranked 18th in the world ahead of many countries that have regular leagues, yet I can't find anything about real baseball being played in Thailand. Does anyone know anything about real baseball in Thailand?
April 8, 201115 yr Great question. I went to a minor league game yesterday here in Florida and got thinking about the same thing. I assumed there was no baseball played in Thailand. My guess is the players all live/come from outside Thailand. A quick Google search yielded these results: Amateur Baseball Association of Thailand. http://www.baseball.or.th/main_en.htm Looks like the English site hasn't been updated in 6 years. International Baseball Federation site; http://www.ibaf.org/en/nation-detail.aspx?id=51af8791-9d52-435a-a199-d79e1601a054 It lists ABAT's address and email. Headquarters 1 Moo 7 Phaholyothin Road KM 51, Tambon Chiengrak-noi, Amphur Bangpa-in city 13180, Pranakorn Sri Ayuthaya e-mail [email protected] Organization * President Mr. Somsak Pornpudphong * Secretary General Mr. Vutichai Udomkarnjananan I have sent them an email. Lets see what happens. I didn't know that Johny Damon has coached them. I also didn't know Damon is half Thai. . Edited April 8, 201115 yr by ScubaBuddha
April 10, 201115 yr Author Yeah, I found the same 6 year out of date site and also saw Damon visited Thailand. The national team has to come from american's with thai citizenship for them to do as well as they have and be ranked above other countries that actually have year around programs and leagues. I didn't try emailing them, let me know what you find out. cheers, Adam
