My Thai Wives First Visit To The Usa

Featured Replies

I was wondering what process to use to receive a "Travel Visa" for my Thai wife of 5 1/2 years in Bangkok, Thailand. She was turned down once by the US Embassy within less than a 5 minute interview. But that was an application for a Work Visa or a Green Card. I've heard that it is much easier to get a Travel Visa which does not allow them to work in the USA and they have to be out of the USA by the day the Visa hits 6 months.

The key is how likely it is she will return to Thailand. If you have ties here that will help a lot. The concern is using this as a backdoor entry for settlement without the normal immigrant visa process first.

Will move this to proper section.

Sounds like she's already been through the process altho you're not clear as to what kind of U.S. visa she'd previously applied for, and been rejected. Were you married with her at the time? If not, circumstances have changed, obviously, and success or failure of a new application for a Non-Immigrant visa will depend to a large extent on YOUR status in Thailand and your future plans to remain here, if that is, indeed, your plan.

I have A friend from Thailand coming to visit me at the us in A few days. She didn't have any problems at all.But she has ties in thailand.Businesses in thailand, she owns property etc etc.

You need to prepare compelling evidence that she will return.

I wonder how many Thais made the promise to return but are still there?
