Mario2008
Bangkok immigration gives the following announcement: Announce! Immigration Division1 will be closed on 6th April, 2011 and during 13nd - 15th April, 2011. Re-entry Permit service will be opened at Immigration Division1 (SuanPlu Office) on Saturday, 16th April, 2011 at 8.30 -12.00 am. Note : Foreigners who residing in Bangkok can do Re-entry Permit in advance before long weekend on office hour. Fee for single type 1,000 Baht and Multiple type 3,800 Baht As songkran is an official holiday, all government offices will be closed from Wed. April 13th - till Su April 17th and reopen on Mo. April 18th. Of course this includes all immigration offices. Thai embassies and consulates abroad will also be closed. However, honorary consulates might be open. Besure to check this first. Foreign embassies and consulates in Thailand will also be closed, as they follow the Thai national holidays. If your permission to stay ends in the period immigration is closed, you will not get fiend for overstay if you apply for an extension of stay the first working day after the holiday, (April 18th). Best is to apply before your extension of stay ends. An extension of stay can be applied for 30 days early and still starts from the date your current permission to stay ends. By applying early, you don't lose any days. Persons wanting to make use of the re-entry permit service at Suan Plu can look here for a map: http://bangkok.immig.../location3.html Border check-points operate as normal. Have a nice and safe songkran.

nikkoid66
I am supposed to extend my ED visa today. But School and immigration is closed. On 16th I will be overstaying 1 day! Is the immigration flexible in Thailand or rigid like in the USA for example?
