Hotel On The Outskirts?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for something in the 2,000 baht p/night range but most of all I want it somewhere as close to possible to the area of Pracha Uthit/Suksawad/Rama II road. Essentially we're talking Thon Buri, around the bottom of a big map of Bangkok.

I need to book something immediately and it's extremely important. Would greatly appreciate any ideas.

I always stay for the first couple of days of my trips at the Bangkok Loft Inn at Wongwain Yai. Last stop on the BTS line. It's a 70baht taxi ride to Suksawat Rd. There's nothing western in Pracha Uthit. I know I've tried. Once I get rid of the jetlag I move to a Thai apartment block off Suksawat Soi 26.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure you right as I know the Pracha Uthit area fairly well but I thought I'd give it a try.

But wait...that would be closer than the Grand Tower Inn Sathorn, would it not?

EDIT:

Hey, that place looks pretty decent. How new is it? Grand Tower was showing its age last year.

My wife lives and works in that area :-) Pracha Uthit Rd is quite long but it's all downtown Thai.

Yes the Loft Inn is last hotel out that way. It's a 4 star hotel at a 3 star price. It's only 2 or so years old.

Not alot around that area but who cares as the skytrain is a 5 minute walk.

Yeah, it is long. And indeed it's almost provincial Thailand.

Thanks for the confirmation about the Loft .

As it happens I don't need a lot in the area -- or anything at all. I literally need only a place to spend a night or two. Neither I nor my guests have anything left to see or do in Bangkok that we haven't already seen or done.
