April 11, 201115 yr I bought a charger for my car battery at Lotus. Did not work. Got my money back without any problem. Does anyone know where to buy a good battery charger in Chiang Mai ?
April 11, 201115 yr My advice would be that if you have a battery which needs charging by another source than the car alternator, it is on the way out. Replace the battery and spend the money on that. Car batteries in a tropical environment have an average lifespan of 2-3 years. Are you sure your alternator does what it is supposed to do? No lights in the boot which stay on?

April 11, 201115 yr As mentioned, unless you are really lucky, some are, 2 years is the norm, even from a factory equipped unit. If you can, we have talked about Boliden dry cell battery to be the best and last a lot longer. PS. just to check, put a volt meter across the battery with engine off for a reading then start her up, the reading should go from around 12.5 up to 13.5/14 volts when started. This is to check that the alternator is functioning, not the batteries amp power.
