High pressure water guns banned with fines up to 50,000 Baht

PATTAYA: -- An announcement was made by Pattaya Police on Wednesday to make people, especially foreigners, aware of illegal and dangerous high pressure water guns because of the very strong pressure of water they emit, that has caused accidents and damage to vehicles, especially vulnerable motorcycles riding along the roads, and loss of life in the past.

We drove down Jomtien beach yesterday...saw one water truck on the beach side of the road and another just driving around blasting everybody...especially scooters! High powered for sure! We then saw a Thai guy from a bar drop a huge block of ice into a trash can they were using...ugh...luckily in a car and never got a drop on us...

Too bad no one told the idiot in front of Royal Garden Mall last night a 8:30 PM that he could get fined as he sprayed every passing Baht Bus

Thailand, more laws and rules, less enforcement

Maybe the journalists from Pattaya People could interview the Chief of Police to ascertain how they actively policed this crackdown, maybe some facts about how many people were fined and how many of these illegal high pressure guns were confiscated.

It would be good journalism and I, for one, would very much welcome a follow up report.
