Ok ill start with abit of background information first I am half thai and aus, I currently live and work in aus and am interested in buying a house in bangkok since I plan to move back in a few years, what are my options and what will I need to do ?

Decide where you want to buy the property and then survey tha market and chop around basically in the same way you would do in Oz. For a Thai it is pretty much straight forward.

A Thai citezen and have done national service yet asking foreigners how to obtain a mortgage......surely, call Kasikorn, SCB, BKK Bank....they will have far better knowledge than anyone on here

I think the problem you will face is not having a credit history in Thailand, if you live/work in Aussie, you may have to get someone in Thailand to Co-sign for you, or someone to take the mortage out and you pay every month

It will help if you can come up with a substantial deposit..say 40-50%...However best to contact banks and ask..good luck
