Israeli troops injure two Palestinian children in West Bank

2011-04-29 06:03:48 GMT+7 (ICT)

BIL'IN, WEST BANK (BNO NEWS) -- Two Palestinian children were injured on Thursday after Israeli troops invaded a village in the central West Bank, Palestine News Network reported.

According to local sources, Israeli troops stormed the village of Bil'in and searched homes. The two children were injured after the troops fired tear gas, sound bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets.

Nshma Abu Rahma, 15, was hit in his leg, while Jamal al-Khateeb was hit with a bullet in his face. Both were moved to Ramallah city hospital for treatment.

The village of Bil'in, near Ramallah, has been holding weekly protests against the Israeli wall for the past six years. In 2009, the Israeli High Court of Justice ruled in favor of the villagers and ordered the Israeli army to reroute the wall giving villagers half of land Israel took to build the wall. The army still refuses to implement the court order.

thuggish behavior on the part of Israel

They are grubs. Disgraceful behaviour. Makes you wonder whether the Israeli government has control over the IDF. If they do then they are allowing thier troops to carry out such attacks. :annoyed:

Is there a corroborating news source. Somehow the "Palestine News Network" doesn't strike me as an unbiased news source.

spot on! and why no mention for the reason why IDF stormed the village or what were they looking for? or hoping to find?

usually tear gas is fired if there is strong resistance, so what was happening in the house, for IDF to fire tear gas?

PS. Where were the parents of those kids?

I take it as read that those who condemn two people being injured would have considerably greater condemnation for more violent occurences reported in the news on the same day such as the suicide bombing of a cafe in Morrocco or the secatarian bombing of a mosque in Iraq where the deaths were in double figures.

No of course not. This is typical. A distortion of news out of tiny Israel compared to all the other lousy stuff that is happening all over the world.

The IDF spokesperson said that forces operating along the Gaza border fired on a terrorist unit that appeared to be attempting to place an explosive device along the fence.

It seems that the IDF did not search the village just for the heck of it. whistling.gif

Reading before posting is always smart.

Op is about westbank, jpost is gaza!

Unless of course Palestinian media can not get it's story right or does not know what it prints

Or is so deep into lies and facts twisting that they themselves do not know what the truth is anymore.

Correct.
