i am getting a 60 day tourist visa to go and spend 2 months with my girlfriend, we are going to be holidaying in chiang mai for a week and hua hin for another week with friends, but while i am there i want to fix up her brrothers boat as a favour to him and some small repairs and electrical repairs to the family town house in bkk.

does anyone know if i will be frowned upon and dragged into an interview room if i show up with a 60 day tourist and nothing but a 20kg toolbox and some hand luggage?

Immigration will not notice, as you get your tool bag after you have past them. Instead you will deal with customs, who can question you about it and levy import duties on the tools. If they will is another matter.

If the toolbox is in a suitcase, chanches are they are not going to notice and just let you pass.
