stats
CHANGES TO RULES :** FINES : After every game the referees will submit a match summary to Khun Baeng and myself, based on what information I have then fines will be levied on teams as follows - Red Card : THB 500 (The is no appeal) - Unsporting Conduct : THB 2,000 (There is no appeal) Unsporting conduct will be defined as, any event on the pitch that continues beyond the referee or linesmen stating that it should stop. Any attempt to provoke fighting. Any attempt by players / managers / fans to enter the pitch, to throw items onto the pitch, abuse of the linesmen or referee. Any threat of violence (action or verbal, intended or not) towards the referee or linesmen. Ultimately it's common sense, as discussed I will be asking the referees to be stronger in their enforcement of the rules, to take full advantage of the right of the referee to move a free kick, book players for dangerous tackles and verbal abuse. If you have players you can't control then you may want to think twice about allowing them to play for you. All fines will be paid to Patana's Charity of choice or to one adopted by the league if Patana have no Charity of choice. ** REFEREES : I will meet with Khun Daeng and the referees this Saturday to advise them on the need for stronger in their enforcement of the rules and less latitude towards infringements, and greater use of cards. ** RED CARDS : Are a one match ban, it is not optional. A team caught violating the ban will lose the match in progress 3-0 and be fined THB 2,000 ** VIOLENCE : If a player throws a punch, with intent, then that player will be expelled from the league, incidents that go beyond the involvement of a single player from one team will result in the team being suspended for the remainder of the season with no refund of fees paid. All matches versus this team will be set to 0-0 draws. (Goals scored will still count towards players tallies) ** NEXT SEASON : Hi All, The following is the process for registering your squads for next year. If you fail to have a squad of at least 11 registered by end of the third week of September then you will not be eligible to play in your first match. REGISTRATION PROCESS For each EXPAT player you need to collect 1. A copy of their passport (picture and details pages only) 2. A colour Photo 2" by 2" size 3. A Valid Email For each THAI player you need to collect 1. A copy of their National ID card 2. A colour Photo 2" by 2" size 3. A Valid Email 4. Compile all info locally in MS Excel or MS Word 5. Call or Email paul once done to ask him to pick up all the docs and compiled data. Cards will display 1. Full Name 2. Nationality 3. Date of Birth 4. Picture 5. The Squad Name All passport and ID card copies will be destroyed after they are used. Emails will be used by Paul for marketing, I will be testing emails for validity, any one giving in fake emails will be suspended until they provide a valid one. Harsh yes, but I value Paul's sponsorship of the league and don't think the occasional promo to players is too much to ask. http://www.somtam.com/ Edited October 5, 2005 by tytus
stats
Hi All, Please find below a summary of the meeting along with the resulting decisions made Scans and Patana were all absent. RC Pattaya Informed me they could not get a representative to the meeting. 1. Unfortunately we will lose one team next season as the Bangkok Blitz will dissolve , naturally with so many teams in the league I don't doubt that the players will soon get picked up by the other teams 2. We have two prospective new teams looking to join the league, one from English First the other an as yet to be defined company, both expat focused squads. Discussion centered around having new teams pay a one time entry fee to join the league and therefore ensure they are serious. I am in favour of this and we will from here on charge new teams THB 30,000 to join the league. All money to go towards league events / covering part of the league fees / more cup events / beer / registration process etc for the present teams. 3. The major change for next year is the requirement for ALL players to be registered. Registration will require that all players from all teams submit a Width 35mm x Height 45mm color size photo and a copy of the information page of their passport and a 'real' e-mail address, if they have one. Thai players with no passport will need to send a copy of their national ID card Passport copies will be destroyed after being used to verify the name and nationality of the players. Nationality of the passport will define the nationality of the player. i.e. players of Thai/British decent are British if they have a UK passport, Thai if they don't. Photo and passport copy must be signed by the player in question . Email address and names will be given to the sponsor as part of the package to ensure they get full value for their supporting the league The exact process of collection will be defined with the Sponsor / me later this year, however i highly recommend you start collecting now. New players may be added to a squad at any time but CAN NOT play if they have no ID card. ID cards will take up to one week to process for new players. ID Cards must be given to the referees at the start of every match. Managers will also present to the referee the list of all players and the shirt number. Teams must have two distinctly different colored strips, with enough shirts to ensure ALL players that play in a match have a unique number (no shirt sharing). Players are not required to use the same number each week (but feel free to do so) 4. This year we expect to have 15 or 16 teams, there will be a single division. HOWEVER if in 2006/2007 the league expands beyond 16 teams we will split to an upper and lower division system, ALL teams are aware that the teams that finish in the bottom half of the league in 2005/2006 would find themselves in division 2 if the league does divide. All new teams will always start in division 2. As an example, if in 2006/2007 we have 2 new teams, then these 2 and the bottom 7 teams from 2005/2006 will make up division 2. 5. Pattaya, All matches at Pattaya will from now on be scheduled the same was as the matches at Patana. We are looking at one of two available locations. This will be defined before the start of next season 6. Week Day Games : IF a team wishes to play a few week day matches these must be declared at the START of the season when I am doing the fixtures and must have the consent of the opposition, opposition has the final word. 7. As per this season no matches may be changed once the season has started without exceedingly good reason. 8. All teams must commit to field a team for all matches scheduled. It is unfair on the opposition when matches are cancelled as money has been paid and the pitches booked. If a team can not commit to play at least 90% of all matches then they should re-consider having a squad in the league. 9. Patana, again we have enjoyed the luxury of the Patana pitches and we hope to see this continue into the new season. 10. Sponsors. This season is the final year of the secured sponsorship for the league by MBMG International, and we all owe Paul Gambles some hearty thanks for being the first (only) company to step forwards when we needed a sponsor and for being available for offering to loan us the Patana costs in the first year there when it was looking doubtful that we'd get all the money in time. MBMG International are very interested in continuing to sponsor the league. However if your company or one that you know is interested in sponsoring the league then please contact me for more details on the kind of package we are looking to get next year as well as what we can offer. 11. The Cup. The Cup will be moved to a preseason tournament along with a pre season get together, we always have more people at the start of the season and so having the cup as "kick off" event means greater participation. Money paid this year will be held ready for the cup in around Sept/Oct 2005. 12 Start date of 2005/2006 season. Will be defined once I have met with Patana to check on availability for next season. If you have any questions or spot anything erroneous in the above please let me know. I believe it was also mentioned that maybe the word "casual" is no longer applicable to our league and we become simply the "Sponsors Name League", which makes sense to me. Jockstar
Thats an old email. I saw that months ago. Regarding all the rules about fighting etc. That was brought in after the French attcked one of our players and it excalated from there. One guy got his jaw broken and a few others got hit from both sides. Though it was only really about 5 people involved as the rest of us were trying to split it up. Sorry for sounding as if i know it all. It wasnt meant to come accross like that. But yes. passions run high in some matches.ie the French had the worst record regarding cards all season. Though they didnt psot their cards and sending off on the website. We had quite a few yellows last season. But all our cards were there to see.. Many other teams also didnt post their cards. Spit the Dog
As most teams appear to play thier home games at Patana school, are there any advantages in being the home team?? Apart from getting to wear your first choice kit, are there any other advantages. E.g Can you choose the pitch, kick off time etc....? Just curious. stats
Email from Chris Sanderson.... Hi All,I will be sending out a consolidated rules and regs sheet soon but before then please see the below. PAYMENT. Before the end of the month please from all teams, so far 5 teams have paid. ID CARDS. All teams now have their ID cards expect one. Before every match your ID cards must be presented to the referee and be available for myself or the opposition captain and to review upon request. Playing a team that is unregistered will result in an immediate 3-0 loss... or the actual result if that is greater than 3-0. I hope that the use of Id cards becomes a totally pointless exercise but I would rather we have them and they be pointless than not have them and have issues. At the end of every match the referee may request to see the ID card of any players that were booked or scored to double check their information is correct. TEAM SHEETS (SEE ATTACHED) Before every match you must present the attached team sheet to the referee. The Referee will then give/send these to me so I can have a record of all goals and bookings. As stated earlier players may NOT change shirts during a match, if you have more than 28 players then get shirts and numbers to cover them and extend the sheet attached to fit them. If your players always use the same shirt numbers then it will be easy for you to fill in the attached once and print it out with minor changes each match...if your teams shirts change then you might want to put in the names for easy printing and add the shirt numbers before each match. Through the team sheets and ID cards it will be easier for everyone to keep track of all aspects of the league. RED CARDS A straight red is an immediate one match ban and a THB 500 baht fine Two yellows is a THB 500 Baht fine, no ban Cheers Chris Edited October 4, 2005 by tytus
stats
REGULATIONS FOR CASUALS LEAGUE 2005/2006REGULATIONS FOR CASUALS LEAGUE 2005/2006 Date : Friday, October 07, 2005 The below are the regulations, at the end of the day though, common sense and captains mutual agreements are what should be used in the case where the below do not cover a particular situation or the situation calls for a variation in the rulings. Please note, as agreed at the end of last season, if the 2006/2007 season sees more than 15 teams in the league we will split to a 1st and 2nd division system. Sponsor : The league is sponsored by MBMG International. MBMG will take care of all the following in the 2005/2006 season • ID Cards and registration of players • The 2005/2006 League Cup • The 2005/2006 Beach Football Tournament (Excluding accommodation) Squads : The following are the regulations regarding squads. 1. All players must have a League ID Card 2. ID Cards for the squad must be presented to the referee before the match starts 3. Opposition captain and league commissioner may request to view the ID Cards at any time during a match 4. The referee may request to review the ID Cards any time before, during or after the match. 5. Kick off will start on time assuming a team has 7 payers present. 9. Failure to field 7 players at the time of kick off, will result in the referee waiting 5 minutes, if the team still fails to field 7 players then the opposition may declare a walk over 3-0 win or wait further. Any incident that involves players or fans coming on to the pitch from the side lines will result in an immediate expulsion from the league for that team for the remainder of the season, and a life time ban for all people involved from the Patana premises. Postponing / Cancelling Matches The following governs when and how matches can be postponed and rescheduled. 1. stats
Hi All, This month we have allowed players to play as long as their ID card was in processing to allow everything to get sorted and allow for hiccups to happen and be smoothed out. Next month players will ONLY be allowed on the field if they have an ID card. (Being in process will no longer be allowed, at all, so please don't ask) NOTES : 1. New ID cards must be requested from Paul and all the info with Paul by Tuesday 5PM if you hope to have an ID card ready, cards might get done if they are sent later, BUT there are are no guarantees and there will be no exceptions if the card is not ready. Info sent before Tues 5pm will be ready for the weekend. You may fax the paper details and email scanned images of photos to Paul to speed up the delivery process 2. If a player changes teams... a. I need to be informed b. His ID card needs to be returned to Paul c. A new ID card needs to be issued for the new team This effectively stops people from playing for multiple teams. As always, IF a team is short and the opposition agrees then a player from another team WITH an ID card can play, the opposition as always has the final decision on this. Goals scored while subbing for another team do not count towards a players league goals tally. 3. ID cards are in existence mainly as a post event "check system", if after a match you wish to review the oppositions ID cards you are 100% entitled to do so, as is the referee or myself. Hopefully I have no need to remind you , that playing a squad that has players with no ID card will result in a 3-0 loss (or the effective score if you lost anyway), constant breaking of this rule will result in your team being removed from the league. stats
Hi All, I've asked previously and it is not being done. So here we are again, with the alternative.. PLEASE ensure your players, coaches, fans and so forth all stay at LEAST 1 meter away from the side line. It is somewhat amusing to watch a match where a full FIFTY PERCENT of the side line is blocked by players and then hear players bitch about a decision which the referees assistant couldn't get to be inline with even if he wanted too. So you can either enforce this in your team or I will have Hugh draw up coaches boxes on the side of each pitch and you'll be required to stay in that area for the entire match, or sit in the provided stands. ON TOP of this I saw a couple of coaches advance onto the pitch during play when throwing insults at the referees! Setting foot on the pitch by any person not playing or a coach is not allowed, read the rules, next time I see it I will enforce it. As it now seems that abuse of the referees has moved to players on the side line and coaching staff I am considering allowing the referee to book players who are on the side lines. In the case of coaches this will mean (yellow banned to stands) Red, removed from Patana and an attendance ban... it's getting bad enough that action needs to be taken before I just get pissed off with someone and ban their whole team. Take note and get some discipline sorted out please. Not every team is guilty of the above, but one team doing it is too much. Cheers Chris http://www.somtam.com/ ----------------------------------------------
stats
Hi All, First off the thank you's and then we'll get stuff into yet another mail of what is becoming a pretty standard part of the week. Thank you Junior for helping calming things down, and thank you to both team managers (Ken and Carey) for ensuring this didn't go too far and taking action to get their teams away from the incident. Thank you Carey for taking the right approach to discuss his (not incident related) concerns with me. Thank you also to Andy, Ken, Neil and Carey for their post match apologies. First Issue :Winking Frog vs Londoner The events on the pitch should have ended once the Danai had retaliated, he was on the way to a red card (a fact that neither he or the team captain disputes), yes it was stupid, hot blooded, and the ref had no choice but to send him off... but as usual some one on the side line has to get involved, and once one person gets involved, well it escalates. Should we thankful that we didn't have a repeat of last year? I think not, I think we should be yet again wondering why this continues to happen, why players continue to act like a bunch of child like thugs and the once a match is over act like they were innocent of anything! Yes it was the refs fault, it was the light, it was Chris, it was anybody but themselves. It's a minority but it's still actually rather pathetic. If I'd been referring that match there'd have been more than one red card. Perhaps the player that gave the referee the finger after he was booked thinks he was being smart, perhaps he'd like to find a new league to play in? Perhaps the people who decide to whine and bitch after a match and get in my face think they are above the rules, perhaps there's a better league they would prefer to play in? I believe it can be arranged. Actually the bitching started barely 1 minute into the match... you have to wonder if some players come to play football or simply want to open their mouths and belch foul language for an hour and a half. Perhaps the players who decided to insult the referee after the match think that they are also very clever, or did they forget that we now know who every player is, perhaps they'll learn to keep their thoughts to themselves. I actually think I've been too lenient, obviously a bit of enforcement is needed So.... first off, as I know it'll be asked, Danai Downer committed a foul, he was sent off and has been fined and that's the end of it. The below are not open to discussion. UN SPORTING CONDUCT FINES Winking Frog THB 2,000 Londoner THB 2,000 SUSPENSIONS. Andy Silvas : Lond : Pitch Infringement - 1 Match Khun Leng : W Frog : Pitch Infringement - 1 Match Khun Leng : W Frog : Post match comments to refs - 1 Match (Total 2) Suspensions are immediate. Violation is a 3-0 loss in any match they participate while suspended. Fines to be paid to me on or before the 19th of November. Andy Silvas did apologize after the incident, however that's a far second to not getting involved in the first place. NEXT - If you or your players have an issue that you wish to raise with me then either you or the team captain will bring it to me and you will present it in a calm and polite fashion, I shall no longer stand for any one thinking that I am there as an invitation for their verbal abuse, I don't care who they are or what happened, the only thing they will accomplish by such actions is to irritate me, which will mean I ignore anything that was asked or said. I have spent too many years , too much time and too much effort to raise this league to the standard it is at present to have to listen to any form of abuse from any one. If your player has an issue they should bring it to you and you or the team captain will present it to me. FINALLY 1. I am in talks with Hugh to change match times by 15 minutes, this is NOT yet finalized 2. Ambulance coverage is in the process of being arranged 3. Ref Training is in the process of being arranged and we may have a British FIFA certified ref we can use soon to. I will allocate which matches he refs and the spare ref will act as a fourth official. 4. Shin pads are now required by all players, players with no shin pads will not be allowed on the pitch. Cheers Chris http://www.somtam.com/

stats
REGULATIONS FOR CASUALS LEAGUE 2005/2006 Last Update : Monday, November 14, 2005 The below are the regulations, at the end of the day though, common sense and captains mutual agreements are what should be used in the case where the below do not cover a particular situation or the situation calls for a variation in the rulings. 1. A squad can have an unlimited number of players 2. All members of a squad must be registered before they play. 3. All Squads must have two strips of a different colour. 4. Squad strips must have enough shirts for each player to have their own number for a full match. 5. Squads may not include Professional or Semi Professional players i.e. anyone who is paid to play by any other league (world wide). 6. There is no limit on the number of players allowed from the “Farang League - Bangkok Football League”, 7. For a match to be played a team must field a squad of at least 7 players at kick off. Clothing / Kit : The following are the regulations regarding clothing. 1. All teams must have two kits of different colors 2. All teams must have enough shirts for every player in the squad 3. All shirts must be numbered. 4. Shin pads are required for all players on the pitch at all times ID Cards and Team Sheets The following are the regulations regarding ID Cards and Team Sheets. 1. All players must have a League ID Card 2. ID Cards for the squad must be presented to the referee before the match starts 3. Opposition captain and league commissioner may request to view the ID Cards at any time during a match 4. The referee may request to review the ID Cards any time before, during or after the match. 5. Playing an unregistered player will result in a 3-0 loss, or the actually result of the match as chosen by the opposition. 6. Nationality of a player is defined by passport submitted for registration and is displayed on the ID card. 7. The captain of each team must submit a full team sheet to the referee before the match starts. Match Regulations The following govern the league during play. 1. A squad may not have more than 5 Thai nationals on the pitch at any time. 2. The team listed first on the Excel fixture is considered the home team when it comes to deciding strip colours. Home team provides the match ball. 3. Rolling substitutes is the basis for all changes of players. Players may come on and off the field as often as they like. 4. Play must have come to a stop before a substitution can be made, and must have been approved to go ahead by the referee. 5. Players, fans and team management must at all teams remain at least 1 metre from the side of the pitch, better yet, sat down in the stands. 6. Linesmen may request to check the studs of boots before a player goes on to the pitch. If the linesman considers the studs are not safe then the boots must be changed 7. Players may not change or share shirts during a match (i.e. each player must have the same shirt number for the entire match) 8. General FIFA rules apply in all other aspects of the match. 9. Kick off will start on time assuming a team has 7 payers present. 10. Failure to field 7 players at the time of kick off will mean that the opposition may declare a 3-0 walk over win, kick off immediately or wait a further, all time waited is considered playing time. i.e. a wait of 10 minutes, is 10 minutes of the match – this is needed to avoid delaying other matches. Referees, Patana Staff and League Administrators The following regulations govern all aspects of dealing with the referees 1. Referees are to be respected at all times regardless of whether a player disagrees with their decisions. 2. Referees are empowered to book and send off abusive players 3. Referees are requested to send off players who retaliate in any way to tackles or provocation. 4. Referees are requested to send off and report players who aim to provoke incidents. 5. Pushing or Prodding etc any of the referees will result in an immediate 10 match suspension and THB 2000 fine. 6. Approaching the referee or any league administrator after a match to make complaints in an unsporting manner will result in an immediate one match suspension and potential fines. Bookings / Fines and Suspensions 1. Bookings do not accumulate 2. A straight red card will result in an immediate 1 match suspension 3. Two yellows does not result in a suspension. 4. A red or 2 yellows results in a THB 500 fine payable to the league and passed on to the charity of Patana’s choice 5. Any incident requiring further review can result in a larger fine, suspension and/or ban at the complete discretion of the league commissioner. 6. Any incident that involves players or fans coming on to the pitch from the side lines will result in punishment ranging from a THB 2,000 Fine and player suspensions, up to an immediate expulsion from the league for that team for the remainder of the season, as well as a life time ban for all people involved, from the Patana premises, dependant upon the seriousness of the incident. Postponing / Cancelling Matches The following governs when and how matches can be postponed and rescheduled. 1. A match may only be postponed and rescheduled (After the start of the season) due to reasons of great impact, tragedy or events beyond the control of the league (e.g. Patana Floods) 2. The request to postpone and reschedule must be sent to the league commissioner 3. The league commissioner will review and if agreeable will send the request to the opposition along with the reason for the change. 4. The opposition has final say, if they reject the change, then it is final. 5. If agreed then the league commissioner will arrange a new date with Patana Sports Department that is primarily agreeable with the opposition. If no new date is available then the match must be played as scheduled. 6. If the Patana Football team cancels a match then they are fined THB2,000, payable to the opposition. 7. In the case that a team cancels, then the pitch is open for the opposition to use for training or a friendly along with the referees at no cost. 8. In all cases where a match is not played then the team that fails to field a squad loses 3-0. Match Reports. It is not required, but appreciated, if teams can send in a match report. It adds to the enjoyment of the league that there are reports to read and helps to provide content for the weekly round ups that are published. League Cup. The 2005/2005 league cup will take place at the end of the regular season, potentially Saturday May 20th. Pattaya Beach Cup. There will hopefully be a 2005/2005 beach football tournament that will take place in Pattaya, the exact time and location is yet to be defined. Rules and regulations may be changed to suit the situation by the league commissioner at any time without notice.

Name: ________________________________________________________ Position: ______________________________________________________ Company: _____________________________________________________ Address: ______________________________________________________ Tel: _____________________________Fax: _________________________ E-mail: ________________________________________________________ Best regards Greg Watkins Executive Director [email protected] * * * SPEAKER'S PROFILE * * * Standing supreme as Liverpool's all-time scoring king the lean Welshman was one of the deadliest strikers in football history, blending superb anticipation with lethal finishing. His attack partnership with Kenny Dalglish is widely rated the best ever in British football. Rush became Britain's most expensive teenager when Bob Paisley paid £300,000 to sign him from Chester in 1980. During his two-part Anfield career, split by a season with Juventus in 1987-88 when he left and returned for a combined £6 million, Rush scored 346 goals in 660 senior outings, although in the League only he was 16 goals short of Roger Hunt's club record 245. It was about the only one to elude him. Rush's haul of 44 FA Cup goals (39 of them for Liverpool) is a 20th century record while his five-goal total in FA Cup Finals (two in 1986 and 1989 and one in 1992 all on winning Liverpool sides) is an all-time best by an individual. Rush shares with Geoff Hurst the League Cup scoring record of 49 and was the first player to win that competition five times, completing his nap hand as Liverpool captain against Bolton in 1995. He scored 10 times in 18 Wembley outings for the club. He also collected five Championship medals, one European Cup and was awarded the MBE. Rush scored an all-time Mersey derby record of 25 goals against Everton, won Europe's Golden Boot with 32 League goals in 1984 when he was also double Footballer of the Year and captained Wales, for whom he scored a record 28 goals in 73 games. He joined Leeds in 1996 and later played for Newcastle, Wrexham and Sydney Olympic. Cheers Chris http://www.somtam.com/

stats
Hi All We got to week 2 before the incidents started, not sure if this is better than last year or not. In this case we had a match where 6 Thai players ended up on the pitch for one team for a period of a few minutes. I have ruled the result stands because it is ultimately the job of the referee to control the match. An error he makes during the match is that, an error he made That Said : I see we've started off the season with a full on attitude of "abuse the referee", and I am embarrassed by how the referees have responded to this as I clearly told them to 1. Book abusive players 2. Inform me of abuse from fans and managers (they will be fined) 3. Send off players that get a second booking due to abuse 4. Keep the side lines clear. 5. STOP a match where players or fans refuse to obey their directions until they are obeyed. We have started off this season with some of the worst Sportsmanship I have ever seen in this league, with players already kicking the ball away after it is out of play, subs getting in the way and preventing the flow of the game by holding back the ball, and more...great stuff and we're only just through week 2. The very things that should be making this league more fun and easier to play in actually seem to be making it worse. RULE CHANGE/ENFORCEMENT : Rolling subs, in light of the issue last week, and to try and ensure a little more control over subs. 1. Subs only come on once the ball is out of play AND the referee has signalled the change can go ahead (this is the standard rule) 2. New player may NOT enter the pitch until the other player is off the pitch 3. Player coming off the pitch and onto the pitch will exit/enter at the the half way line. I.e. they're going to meet right at the same point before the new player goes on...this applies to all positions. 4. Obviously injuries are the exception to the rule for point 3. I will inform the referees on Saturday. Finally I am speaking to Hugh regarding the issue with the referees to see what can be done to ensure they have more presence on the pitch and sidelines. stats
Hi All Okay player Transfers are starting to get out of hand So here are the new rules for transfers 1. Before a transfer starts the manager of the team they are presently with needs to be informed by email by the new manager (CCed to me and the player) 2. After that I need an email from the player confirming their intent to move, CCed to BOTH managers 3. After that has been done the manager of the team they are presently with needs to be emailed again (CCed to me and the player) and asked to return the players card to MBMG 4. Then you can send in the details for a new card to be created 5. No change in the process or rules regarding when the new card is issued and when they can play. No card, no play. IF at any time during the process the player has a change of heart, they need to contact me and CC both managers. There is no limit on how many times a player can change teams.
