Workman's Comp Insurance For Maids?

Recommended Posts

I've been told that if one employs a maid here, it is

advisable to get Workman's Compensation Insurance,

in case she has an accident while working for you.

Does anyone have any information on this? Who would I contact

to get this insurance? How much is it likely to cost?

All replies are much appreciated.

My wife says that if someone like a maid is hurt on the job that we will pay because we should,,but as far as the law is concerned, there is no law.

But now that is what she said but I would contact a lawyer to get the straight facts.

If you live in Pattaya there is the 12th floor jump cure-all. Works for foreigners.

You could even draft up a document and get all working parties to sign to it.

your final agreed issue could pass all liability to the person who undertakes bad or incompetent acts within your process or area of responibility (home).

1 Draw up papers (employment contract) with the tasks you want carried out.

2 Only allow work to be carried out within those guidelines,

3 Make sure translation (if required is clear and understood)

4 Both parties sign to the agreed procedures for work carried out for you.

5 Teach maid to your needs. make sure she understands.

6 Your in the clear if she does anything outside signed and trained processes.

7 Give the maid her copy.
