Why Are Thai Fruit Platters So Boring?

Featured Replies

It's always the same, no matter where and when, no matter how expensive or cheap, no matter how posh or simple...

Whenever I order fresh fruit in a restaurant, all I get is ... watermelon, pineapple, roseapple, at best with a carrort-like melon.

There are thousands of fantastic fruits in Thailand, but restaurants all over the country have no clue.

I have never seen a fresh fruit salad in any restaurant in Thailand, it would be so easy to make one, use all the fruits which are in season, keep it cool and serve as a desert, perhaps even with some ice cream or a cookie.

But NO! No have! Mai mee! Only watermelon, pineapple and roseapple.

Why oh why?

I believe you seem to have limited your exposure.
