Bangrak/Plai Laem Power Cuts

Featured Replies

Power out last night in Plai Laem from 22.45 for approx two hours or more which is obviously really great it being the hottest time of the year.

I've since learnt from friends that they had no power in Bangrak all night long and as of 8.00hrs this morning still off!!!

Does anyone know why this is and should we expect more of this at the moment?

How can the electric system on this "boutique" island be so bad as its long since been a tropical island and more an expensive tourist haven so surely thesepersistent power cuts are unacceptable.

our office had a really strange day. power was on and off repeatedly throughout the day, then off from 9pm until 1am.

no problems at home or anywhere else. bang rak has been really weird lately.

Yes it was one of the typical transformer problems - they overload and can reset themselves three times. The third time the lights go out you can reckon on one hour for the PEA to come and investigate and reset manually. That seemed to happen last night and the lights came on for about ten seconds after an hour but then went off for another two hours coming back on at 01.00 so the problem must not have been easily solved.

Stop whinging and buy a generator Carmine.....you're living on millionaires row now ya know! :ermm::huh::blink:

Thanks for the info but it still does'nt explain why power was off all night in the area behind the ghost road in Bangrak.
