Can a person gamble on the Internet in Thailand?

Can a person in Thailand make deposits to a bank account in Thailand that would put

money in the Internet Gambling site account who then would credit the Thai gambler's account.

I have a girl friend in Thailand with a gambling problem. I know a lot of Thai's gamble.

She got caught and spent 10 hours at the police station. Would this go on her police report?

Would it affect her Visa application to the USA?
