Re New Australian Passport

Featured Replies

How long does it take to re new my Australian Passport, from the time of application to when I pick it up?

Thanks

Don't think my answer will help you if you are in Thailand but you can fast track it to a week or less if you are in OZ . Info is on the website .

Assuming you are lodging here in Bkk. It took me around 10 days to receive by EMS post to your home.

Less than 2 weeks and you now get an e passport which makes entry into Australia faster.

Thank you for the reply's

They tell you ten working days and in my experience this is very close to the mark.

Remember to then take your new and old passports to your local Thai Imigration Dept office to have your visa and departure card transferred across

I believe if you present both old and new passport at airport/border immigration, it is not necessary to transfer either any current visa or arrival stamp/departure card. The old passport will be cancelled by cutting off part of the cover but visas attached to the old passport remain valid until the expiry date stated on the visa.
