Powered Usb Hub

Featured Replies

I have a Truemove 3G internet stick, and it makes my compaq laptop very hot, 100c+ some times, I went to Seacon Square today and tried everywhere to buy a Powered USB hub, I was with my Thai wife who has a good understanding of English and eventually was able to explain what I wanted, but everybody showed me non powered ones and said mai me to powered, I know they are available and are not very expensive, tomorrow I will go to Fortune and look, anybody else managed to buy one in Bangkok? If so where and how much did you pay.

Pantip Plaza. Top Floor. Bought one myself last week. Brand name Belkin. Accommodates 4 USB devices. Price 900 Baht. May seem expensive but Belkin products are truly outstanding.

Hope this helps.

Just buy a USB extension lead. If you are only using one device it will be OK. Another hint if you have bad reception you can raise the lead above the computer. This sometimes helps.

As far as a USB hub (powered) I find with things like print out a picture and take that. Sometimes works. There will be dozens of shops at Pantip that sell them.

Amorn electronics shops definitely have them. I just bought one a couple of days ago 250 Baht.

Good luck

Even if a USB hub doesn't come with a power adapter, most of those I've seen have a connection for it, so you just need to buy a standard power adapter, you can usually get them in places like Amorn shop for 100-200 baht.
