Uk Visitor Visa Duration

Featured Replies

First of all thanks to all for the invaluable information provided on this forum, we applied for a visa for the Thai GF to come to the UK for a month.

We applied on the 21st April and got the reply on the 11th May confirming that she had a visa.

Ok i need a bit more help, we asked for 1 month and they supplied us the standard 180 day visa. In visa terms is a month 4 weeks, 30 days or 31 days depending on how many days are in the month. i.e arrive Heathrow on the 24th and return back the following month on the 24th, or would she have to leave on the 23rd.

Thanks in advance

Jeeze my internet is slow the header should of said 'uk visitor visa duration 30/180'

when applying fo visas in the future i doubt it would go against you over a day or 2?

A month is a calender month; e.g. the 12th of month one to the 11th of month two.

No matter how long she said she would be staying in her original application, the visa is valid for 6 months and she can stay for any period up to it's expiry. However, if she does stay much longer than originally stated this may cause credibility problems in any future application so she should say why she did and how she was able to do so in any future application.

(I've edited the topic title.)
