11th Money Expo Kicks Off At Impact Exhibiton Center

The 11th Money Expo kicked off yesterday at Impact Exhibition Center Muangthong Thani, with hundreds of financial institutions rolling out special offers to attract customers. The expo runs until Sunday.

More than 100 billion baht is expected to be circulated at the event.

The 11th edition of Money Expo kicked off yesterday at Challenger Hall 2 of the Impact Exhibition Center at Muangthong Thani, with Bank of Thailand Governor Prasarn Trairatworakul presiding over the opening ceremony.

Under the concept of ‘Better Money Better Life’, this year’s event is aimed to promote competition between financial institutions and to encourage them to make funds more accessible to individuals through various channels.

Prasarn said a number of people are still unable to access funds although both the government and the private sector have implemented various measures to address the issue.

He added the expo will contribute to growth of the Thai financial market and help educate the public about how to manage their finances during a volatile economy.

Santi Wiriyarangsarit, chief editor of Money and Banking Journal, the organizer of the Money Expo, said the event is held at Impact Exhibition Center for the first time, in order to accommodate an increasing number of visitors.

More than 700,000 visitors are expected while more than 100 billion baht in transactions is estimated over the four days of the event.

The Money Expo is participated by local and foreign banks, state-owned banks, non-banking financial institutions, insurance firms, gold sellers, asset and fund management companies and government agencies.

A variety of financial and investment services are being offered at the event.

For example, the Government Housing Bank is offering loans with no interest rate for the first two years for first-time home buyers, while Krungthai Bank is offering a 3-month interest-free home loans.

Insurance companies are offering high-yield savings policies to provide more choices for consumers who want to save.

There are many Thai returning from their overseas studies. Many but certainly not all are joining the quick money making scheme perpetrators.

Some of which schemes were successful even seducing unsuspecting bankers into investing into those schemes, e.g. sharing profit from trading currencies last year.

Now they are honing on working at home scheme, many would recall during the last decade or so, these were so rampant in the u.s. and other more advance countries.

Unsuspecting interested in their ad, would join the pyramid and buy products from those promoters, then try to complete the projects at their home.

The only persons making money seem to be those who are advertising, the home biz people who bought and completed the projects would end up with completed projects but no buyer in sight.

I am sure many are familiar with all these varying schemes.

And they come in different names and shapes.... all with the intention to sell something, tangible or intangible, to prey on the interested potentials....

Most Thai are so under informed, they are so easily misled in the name of making a quick buck.

They aren't much different from many of us, are they! B)

Ahhh.... I can safely assume that you are probably very busy and have not yet attended or participated in any EXPO expositions here in Thailand or other more advanced locations, such as Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles or expo in England or South Africa.... to just name a few....

Basically, they are more or less using the same scheme of things.

Many private persons, guru, companies are putting their best on display with only one concerted purpose, that is.....

trying to arouse your hidden interests.... to pay for their products and or services..... with or without any visible or viable verification....

Do you think it is related to Expo or not....?

You really ought to attend one.... perhaps as a vendor--if you have something to sell or perhaps as a visitor.... any way you wish. B)
