My Thai girlfriend is coming with me to Ireland for the 3rd year on a multi-entry Irish Visit visa. I would like to go with her to London (or Paris) and thereabouts for a week whilst we are in Ireland. I have filled in the UK online application a few days ago but the first biometric appointment they were able to give to me was on the 17th of May and we are leaving for Ireland on the 31st of May.

Is there enough time for them to issue the visa and if not will be able to collect her passport by the 31st of May. Her friend got a French visa in 3 days so if it is looking too tight maybe I should try for Paris.

Any informed guesses of how long they will take to make a decision. She has some money in the back but I support her, she has a house and brothers and sisters in Thailand but not working. We have been together 6 years.

Cheers

This time of year is a very busy time at the entry clearance section of the British embassy.

They do, even at busy periods like now, try to deal with non-settlement applications within 15 working days, from the dates you have given I think you'll be lucky to get her passport back in time.

I don't know about current turnaround times at the French embassy, I'm afraid.
